I'm giving this place a 3 because it seriously provides a very different experience to different people. The drinks and food are pretty much dirt cheap which is fabulous but its decor makes the pub in shameless look like the Taj Mahal and it boasts a loyal clientelle that at best can be described as rough around the edges. If you like to have a cozy pint in a real, gritty and down to earth atmosphere then this place will definitely do it for you and then some. However; if you're someone who likes to rub shoulders with the elite, the sexy and the movers and shakers then I'd avoid like the plague.
Good Cheap No Thrills Weatherspoons Pub Good Place To Go Before A Night Out Or a Quick Drink, Food Is So-So But What Do You Expect Televisions are Situatied Around the Place So its good place To Go To Watch the Macth the Outside Smoking Area/beer garden is Quiet Small the Bar Staff are Usually Quick and Sometime Show a Bit Of Personality
We made this trip on a cold, overcast and windy day in late September and so felt justified in nipping into the Dog & Doublet, just above Lock No 9
