I have been going to Rocco for the past three years, it was a great place to be but now it has gone down hill, wont belong before the head door men ruin the place, its was really intresting i was in the que when i heard the head door man (light skinned guy with a black jacket) say to a guest, "i am the boss and what i say goes it ends with me", this was realy rude when the the girl he was talking to was very polite, who is the Boss and when will he/she stop this? i was having a cigarete and a guy put his cardigan on and was forced out by security, he did nothing wrong it was -5degres i appreciate that they have a job to do i am a manager myself and sometimes you have to deal with confliction, but good managers lead by example and stay calm in situations, this head or supervisor door man showed rudeness and was a disgrace to the club, i must say that the bar staff, and djs doing a great job.

Stay away from this place. Use to go before it was alright, but now the door ppl got some attitude probs, one barged me out the way and then tried to kick off although it was his fault ! Seems as if they just make ppl work der who wanna fight.

Other better places to go like sugar suite etc..... Trust me stay away !!!! Da music is so commercial too.

I attend rococo regularly on a Sunday and always have a good time. However when i went last sunday i was told by a door man that i have never seen before that it was people with membership cards only??? I asked him since when because i come all the time and never had to have one before... He replied it has been policy for the past 2 years??? There was a lot of people saying the same thing as me though. The club was very full and i believe it was at, or very close to full capacity and that was a pathetic and rude excuse to say we are not letting anymore people in. I would of rather of been told the truth and then turned up a bit earlier the next time i went if this was the case. As i was lied to, which i definately was because i have needed membership before i will not be returning again and neither will any of my friends!!!

Rococco is pretty gd ona sunday..but the atmosphere is abit moody, nobody mingles. The musics gd..but much prefer sugar suite. Atmosphere is alot better. And the bouncers r funny..sum nights the bouncer wil let me in, other nights the same 1 wont. The bouncers r unpredictable. Some days they are kool uthas they go on like idiots. Especially d 1 with the camera strapped 2 his hed..needs 2 calm down his attitude cuz he startin 2 get a reputation!

A good New Years night spoilt by power mad door supervisors. After paying a reasonable 15.00 entrance fee a thouroughly enjoyable New Years celebrations were at hand the venue was crammed and the atmosphere was outstanding, all memebers male and female were enjoying a fantastic time. The countdown and wishes of well being overflowed. That is except for one member of the door team. For some apparent reason talking to a fellow member of your party in the smoking area is a major infingement of which exclusion is the non negotiable solitary option. As if unhappy with the co operation i poffered to go to the front i was pushed through the club by a smaller gold toothed member of the door team out of the front. when asked with regards to what i had done wrong and whether i could re enter i was promised a good beating with the gold toothed member of the team assuring me of the abilities of his left hand to 'take me out". Bemused by this i decided to retreat. Absolutely shocking i think i should have a full refund embesslement of monies spring to mind!!!

Your bored on a Sunday night then Rococo is the place to be...great vibe don't know where people get the"MOODY" vibe from because i don't get that feeling at all...and I've been 2 some moody venues...besides that its a good night the music is up to date and it certainly gets my vote...on the other hand perhaps a smile from the doormen wouldn't go a miss...and take I.D...

Rococo's sunday night R&B event has become very popular in Birmingham via word of mouth over the last 3 or so years. This is probably due to the vibe, which unlike rival clubs such as Mono Bar, benefits from the having a decent clientele; the "moody" contingency is always a minority. Everybody is out to have a good time. Even though the mainstream side of music isn't my bag personally, it is the atmosphere that makes this night worth going to. The best night out I have ever had was in this club, nearly one year ago.

The security is tight and reliable without being overbearing, and would-be troublemakers have been further weeded out with the recently introduced policy of entrance being membership only. The drinks are fairly priced in comparison to other clubs on broad street too, so it's not hard going on the pockets. Although the music policy doesn't stray outside the bounds of MTV Base's playlist, it is not as predictable as you might imagine, and manages to be fairly inclusive.

In terms of criticisms, there isn't anything significant. The dance floor could benefit from being slightly bigger, but because Rococo is open during the day as a standard Bar, the plan of the club makes sense. The footage of catwalk lingerie shows that are occasionally shown on the screens that sit above the seating areas are probably unnecessary, but if the female members present don't mind - which they don't seem to - then neither do I! Like any other club on Broad street, Rococo toilet's come with the standard toilet attendants that are experienced in the art of guilt-tripping you into dropping a quid into their tip bowl. Fortunately, most of the time that I'm in there I'm too happy to be irritated by them, so luckily for them I indulge.

Overall, a great night out that I would recommend to any fan of R&B. Friday and Saturday nights employ a more mixed music policy, with the latter night having a heavier focus on Funky House/Electro.
